What is the difference between counselling & therapy?
Counselling and psychotherapy each have a unique focus.
Counselling tends to be more short-term, directive and focused on a particular area or situation in one’s life.
Psychotherapy tends to be more long-term, reflective and focused on inner processes and patterns that impact many areas of life.
Chandra offers both counselling and psychotherapy services, and you can discuss with her which is the best fit for your needs.
Do you provide couples and / or family counselling?
While Chandra has worked with couples and families in the past, she currently focuses primarily on individual counselling.
If you are looking for a counsellor or therapist who specializes in couples and / or family counselling, she would be happy to provide a referral.
Do you take insurance?
Registered Psychotherapists are newly regulated and many employee benefit plans now cover clinical counselling and / or psychotherapy services. It is strongly recommend that clients check with their particular provider for exact coverage details before attending their first session.
Do you see children?
Chandra typically works with adult clients and with youth who are 16 years of age or older, with occasional exceptions. Chandra does not currently work with children under 12.
Do you provide evening or weekend appointments?
Evening and weekend appointments are available by request.
